Magnesium ferrosilicon is used for modifying molten malleable iron. Ferro silicon is used in the manufacturing of Magnesium ferrosilicon and other similar pre-alloys. Ferro silicon is an important component in Pidgeon process. In this process, magnesium can be derived from dolomite.
